Flat Tire Co. (FTC), producers of the The Lake Raystown Triathlon are seeking nonprofit organizations and other groups interested in earning money in exchange for helping to staff the May 15, 2016 event.

Some of the tasks include handing out water at refreshment stations, cheering on the athletes and cleaning the station afterwards.

FTC accepts nonprofit organizations, church groups, charitable organizations and teams or clubs to participate in its local charity donation/fundraising program. In order to be considered, FTC requires the organization commit to providing a minimum of 15 volunteers to assist at the race. Volunteer opportunities are usually 4 to 5 hour shifts. The jobs are varied and can include: aid station support, race course monitoring, or pre- or post-race jobs.

Charities and teams are highly encouraged to promote their cause or show team spirit at the race through tents, signage, decorations, costumes and enthusiasm.

Your charity or team will be paid $10 for each volunteer provided, up to a $1,000 donation. Nonprofit groups will be required to provide FTC with a copy of their 501(c)3 status. FTC realizes that some groups are not nonprofit organizations and in the spirit of community service, organizers also offer this program to local teams, clubs and school groups.

Minimum volunteer age is 12. Volunteers between the ages of 12 to 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Volunteers between the ages of 12 and 18 must have parent or guardian approval. A waiver is available online at time of sign up.

Be prepared to provide the name, email and phone number of your team captain.

Nonprofit organizations are asked to provide a 501(c)3 letter.
